The Port City Daily is reporting Atrium Health has offered $2 billion in cash and equity to purchase New Hanover Regional Medical Center, more than twice the amount of Atrium's original offer. Even though proposal deadlines were in March 2020, hopeful buyers have since altered their plans, with UNC Health creating a partnership with Novant Health, one of the top three prospective purchasers. Novant first offered $2 billion, which was the largest amount before Atrium's announcement. Specifics in the latest offer were not released publicly.
