According to military.com, Gene Wamsley has been arrested and charged with theft of government property after stealing respirators from the VA Medical Center in Seattle, where he worked until June 9, 2020, and then selling them online using an eBay account. At first, Wamsley denied the allegations but eventually confessed to the crimes. Investigators from the VA Office of the Inspector General located stolen medical equipment at his residence and also discovered information linking him to the eBay account on his phone. Wamsley's attorney has not issued any comments regarding the situation.
