WTHR Channel 13 News reports that Goshen Health Hospital has alerted more than 1,000 surgery patients that they may have been exposed to hepatitis, HIV and other infectious diseases due to a sterilization error. Between April 1, 2019 and September 30, 2019, a sterilization technician failed to complete one important step in the sterilizing process of surgical equipment. Goshen Health is offering free testing for those patients affected, although it maintains the risk of infection is low.
