According to Boston Business Journal, auditing and advisory firm Grant Thornton will monitor the merger of Beth Israel Deaconess Health System and Lahey Health System. To avoid anti-trust litigation over the merger and receive Massachusetts state approval, Beth Israel Lahey Health agreed in November 2018 to a seven-year price cap, millions of investment to affiliated hospitals, and a decade of oversight by a third party monitor. Grant Thornton will be paid by Beth Israel Lahey Health but will report to the Massachusetts attorney general.
