Buffalo Business First reports Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center is working to reverse its financial losses, which included $4.96 million in 2018. Hospital leadership pinpointed three factors contributing to the deficit including the loss of a high patient volume surgeon, increases in observation cases versus inpatient, and a decline in outpatient referrals. Niagara Falls Memorial is looking to expand the 340B program for higher prescription reimbursements, hired six new physicians, is hiring another 31 positions, and has entered into a joint venture with Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center on a new facility opening spring 2020.
